The NSW Government is partnering with the private sector to
create Australia's largest convention, exhibition and entertainment
facilities in a renewed Darling Harbour.
In addition to delivering new world-class events facilities, the
transformation of a 20-hectare precinct at Darling Harbour is also
a major urban renewal project for the city. It involves
improving public spaces plus creating a new city neighbourhood in
the Haymarket that extends the energy and vibrancy of
Chinatown.
Improved pedestrian connections through the precinct will better
integrate Darling Harbour with the city, Pyrmont, Ultimo and the
Haymarket. The cosmopolitan neighbourhood in Haymarket will
be humming with life seven days a week.
The revitalisation of the precinct at Darling Harbour is a key
part of making NSW number one again and reinforcing Sydney's status
as Australia's global city.
